Coronavirus is the end of everything apparently…

I’m an idiot. I thought it would be a good idea to launch a crowdfunding campaign while there was this little thing called coronavirus. On top of that, my book is called The End of Everything. Plus, it has a picture of a mushroom cloud on the cover. Idiot.

The book is about how I was feeling over the holidays, while of my anti-depressants and anti-anxiety pills. It is about how hard that time was and how I managed to get through it. Obviously, this isn’t a topic that a lot of people want to read about at the moment.

I feel that it is a good representation of how someone with crippling depression and anxiety can cope over the holidays. I think for some, that may be a little too close to the bone right now. That’s fine by me, all truth should be too close to the bone.

Everyone, thinking the world is ending, (and it may be, how the fuck should I know?) is out there buying hand sanitizer, toilet paper, pills and food as if they will never be able to go the store again. Maybe they won’t. No one is really looking for anything good to read while they lock themselves up in their superstructures. They just want the news on at all times depressing them and giving them anxiety. Two topics that my book is about.

We had a few good days of the campaign and then as soon as things started closing down, cities stopping things, events cancelling, restaurants closing, etc. the campaign has screeched to a halt.

I am still going to press on. I think if I can hold out a couple weeks, things might get better, people may feel better and so on.

Worst case scenario, you can get this book with 100 pages of good shit. Then, when you’re done reading it, you can use it for toilet paper. I’ve seen online rolls of toilet paper going for three or four times the price of my book. If you think about it, wiping your ass with my words may just be the cheaper way to go. Plus, I’m making the book with really nice paper, probably softer than your TP.

If you can’t contribute finically, I completely understand. It’s a weird world right now. Jobs are in jeopardy, some people don’t know where their next meal is coming from. I get that. For those of you that that may be the case, I beg you to share the campaign to those who you think would enjoy it. Even just asking people to take a look at it on social media would be awesome. I thank you in advance for that.

For those of you that have been thinking about it, have the cash to do it, but haven’t yet, please let me know what’s holding you back (if it isn’t the coronavirus). Is there something I can change? Is there a another tier I can make? A less expensive one maybe? Let me know.

I was going to put on a $10 tier for the ebook but felt that was silly at the time. Is that something you all would want? If it is, I’ll throw that on there. Or, you can just let me know if I’m being a complete inconsiderate asshole by putting out The End of Everything during the end of the world. My door is always open.

  1. Once this book gets birthed into the world, I’m afraid it’s on its own, as all books are.

Until then, we need to keep believing in it!

I very much doubt that it’s the end of the world. They’re certainly trying to convince us of that, though, in this latest “Gotcha!,” and I’m a bit chagrined at their success. Eventually, we’ll stop believing the stories they gin up, but I guess this isn’t that time.

Let’s try another big marketing push in a couple of weeks, when people are bored with the story and looking for something interesting to distract them from their four walls.

    • I was thinking the exact same thing. spot on man. you rock and give me so much emotional support. I really appreciate it.
