friends

I have friends
friends that I think about all the time
but that I haven’t spoken to in years
everyday I think of them
smile
laugh
remember times that were better
I want to call them
text
message
email
etc
but I don’t
I don’t know why
I think that I’m afraid
that time has changed us
what if
what if
everything is a what if
I wish I didn’t always think of things in that context
but in all honesty
I can’t think of it any other way
I think of Jason
I think of Cameron
I think of Dave
I think of Chris
I think of John
I think of many others
I spend many hours a day
hanging out with all of you again
but for some reason
I don’t call
I enjoy our time together
I hope that your memories of me
are just as good
as being with me
